Women's Health

Dr. Holstein provides a range of gynecological services including yearly exams and lifestyle counseling. Most insurance plans cover annual exams without deductibles or co-pays. Going to your annual exam may prevent many diseases such as osteoporosis. We hope to give you the tools to maintain a healthy lifestyle. We are also happy to assist you in planning your family.

We treat a variety of gynecological conditions in the office. Examples of these conditions include STD testing, abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, bladder infections, vaginitis, breast problems, osteoporosis, PMDD, dysmenorrhea, ovarian cysts, vulvar disorders, polycystic ovaries, HPV, abnormal pap smears, and depression.

Menopause

Dr. Holstein has a special interest in menopause and is a NAMS certified Menopause Practitioner.

Menopause can be a stressful transition for some women. It is often a time when women find less time and energy to take care of themselves. Dr. Holstein can offer suggestions for making this transition less difficult. Many women are able to take hormone therapy with minimal risks, each person needs to consider the risks and benefits of any therapy. For women who choose nonhormonal treatments, we offer alternative medications as well as lifestyle change counseling.

Female Sexual Disorders

Women often have undiagnosed sexual disorders. Lifestyle factors such as marital discord, lack of sleep, and financial worries can interfere with sexual functioning. Some medications can impact your sexual feelings. Midlife hormonal changes can also have a major impact and may improve with treatment. Medical conditions such as painful intercourse can cause negative experiences but can often be treated.

Please call for an appointment if you are experiencing sexual problems.
